Sumner Rugby would like to thank Jake Mangin for his two years with us at Sumner Rugby. Jake came to the club when the premiers were languishing near the foot of the table, the premier reserves were struggling to field a team and regularly defaulting and quickly starting turning things around. As he leaves us, our Premier Wave reached their second plate final in two years and our Premier Reserves reached a Plate Semi Final for the first time in many many years. The future looks very bright for our Sumner senior teams and for that we thank Jake for his great work in both off-season and during season proper.
In this role as Rugby Development Officer (RDO), he has maintained strong junior club registrations and conducted several very successful school holiday programmes, not only championing Rugby but also linking in with other sports clubs in the community such as Ferrymead Bays Football to help sport in our community.
It is this level of success and his previous success stories that lead to Jake being selected as one of the Canterbury U19 assistant coaches
We wish Jake well for his future endeavours!
